Green Eggs & Ham Breakfast
Saturday August 15th @ 7:30am

MVARA Club Fox Hunt

Saturday March 7th @ 9am - 11am
Join us for our semi-annual Fox Hunt, AKA transmitter hunt! The transmitter will be hidden this time by Allyson KW6AML, our winner of last year's spring Fox Hunt. We begin at 9am with a brief check in net on the AB6MV club repeater, 146.655 -103.5, to find out who is participating. As soon as the check-ins are complete, the fox will begin transmitting on simplex frequency 146.565. Remember, the fox could be hidden in any public area within the city limits of Moreno Valley. This would be a great time to put those new tape measure Yagis to use!

Good luck to all who choose to participate!

2026 ARRL Field Day
Theme: A National Resource

This year’s Field Day theme is “Amateur Radio: A National Resource.” Combined with the ARRL Year of the Club, it provides the perfect opportunity for radio clubs to set up stations in public places to demonstrate ham radio's science, skill, and service to our communities and our nation. We will be setting up at the March Field Air Museum in the overflow parking lot next to the courtyard on Friday, June 26. The exercise begins at 1100 Saturday and runs through 1100 Sunday. We will be operating the full 24 hours, so feel free to bring a tent or RV if you would like to spend the night. All interested club members can sign up for an operating shift. Saturday night dinner will be provided by the club, as well as plenty of cold drinks throughout the event to help keep us cool!

What's a Club QSO Party?

A Club QSO party is an activity designed for clubs to work each other.   When the SJRA turned 100 years old, the club QSO party was created to celebrate the club’s 100th anniversary. All members of the SJRA signed their Call Signs / 100 for the entire year of 2016. The contest ran for 7 days so that it would include the official anniversary date of June 16th. During 2026 we will be celebrating 110 years.

Our members had so much fun with the Club QSO party that we are inviting all clubs to celebrate their age. We have created a special event station environment to coincide with the ARRL Year of the Club initiative. This provides an opportunity to share club information with other radio amateurs.

Members of other clubs would sign their callsign with /## indicating the age of the club they are affiliated with. We also encourage clubs to put their club stations (club call sign) on the air as well making this large scale coordinated effort.

Please join us in celebrating your radio club’s age and history as we celebrate our own.

2025 ARRL Field Day
Theme: Radio Connects

The event will run on June 28-29. The theme for 2025 Field Day is “Radio Connects” – highlighting the many ways that wireless technology connects people across distances near and far. The event is part picnic, campout, practice for emergencies, informal contest, and most of all, fun!

Weekend of June 28 - 29 @ March Field Air Museum

2024 ARRL Field Day
Theme: Be Radio Active

The theme for 2024 ARRL Field Day is "Be Radio Active." The event will run on June 22 - 23, and it will be one-part contest, one-part emergency communications exercise, and one-part open house -- and a great time. The theme encourages radio amateurs to take advantage of the peak of Solar Cycle 25, which we are nearing. Activity this year is likely to be extremely high thanks to favorable solar conditions. The upper HF bands, such as 15 and 10 meters, should benefit most from the Cycle's peak.
