Adding a new 5.8 Ghz sector antenna November 2018

Ryan KM6SPZ  installing the new 5.8 ghz 120 deg Dual polarity, 19 DB gain sector antenna on our repeater tower. It should cover Moreno Valley and south towards March Field.
The radio is a M5 Rocket and connected to the 2.4 GHz M2 Rocket through a 5 port Tough Switch. This means that both bands are linked together.

Rich KK6CXA testing a "Direct TV" dish converted to 2.4Ghz with an Ubiquiti M2 Bullet and a Bi-Quad antenna.

Rich KK6CXA with a 15 db sector antenna and Bullet M2. 8 foot mast pointing towards KI6CXM on hill top. Sector to sector antenna connection with a 90% link quality at 37 mbps.

The dish is mounted upside down to allow for "Below Horizon" signal acquisition. With this antenna we were able to connect at the same distance with a 98% signal level and 78 mbps speed. Note: I installed a "Sight tube" on the antenna arm to aid in quickly aligning the dish.
